| December 10, 2002 This project was the sole subject under discussion at the special meeting of the City Council held on Tuesday, December 10th, 2002 in City Hall Council Chambers at 7:00 pm. The following actions were taken by the City Council:
The impact to property owners, residents and tenants affected by this project is that through defederalization the City can now begin the acquisition of properties west of Floresta Drive needed for right-of-way. Those properties east of Floresta Drive to U.S.1 needed for right-of-way cannot be purchased at this time and must be delayed until the alignment is determined through the Project Development & Environmental (PD&E) Study, estimated to be complete within 36 months. The contract for the PD&E Study, IJR Study and Environmental Study has been approved by City Council at the regular meeting held on January 27, 2003. The following actions were taken by the City Council at the special meeting held on January 29, 2003.

Next Steps: A moratorium has been placed on affected properties so that no new building permits, engineering permits or planning and zoning amendments will be approved. Repairs needed related to health and safety will be handled on a case by case basis. |
