Jacksonville, FL-- Keith and Schnars is pleased to announce that Peter J. Sheridan was presented with the National Society of Professional Engineers’ prestigious 2008 Professional Engineers in Private Practice (PEPP) Merit Award on Friday, July 25th, 2008. Accompanied by his wife Lisa, Mr. Sheridan traveled across the country to Portland, Oregon to accept his award, presented to him by PEPP Chair Kevin Skibiski, P.E., P.L.S. A candidate from each State and several U.S. territories is nominated for the award through a State-wide engineering society. A selection committee reviews the applications submitted to determine the honoree. Although many applications are reviewed each year, this prestigious honor has not been awarded since 2006.  Peter J. Sheridan was the recipient of PEPP Merit Award for 2008. The award recognizes Mr. Sheridan’s significant contributions to the growth and development of professional engineers in private practice. Keith and Schnars, P.A. was also recognized for the support the firm has given to the profession through Peter Sheridan’s activities.

The National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) encompasses approximately 45,000 professional engineers and those on the path to licensure who show the utmost level of devotion to their profession. Today, the NSPE stands as the only national organization dedicated to addressing the professional concerns of licensed Professional Engineers across all disciplines. Through education, leadership training, and multi-disciplinary networking NSPE has enhanced the ability of its members to ethically and professionally practice engineering.
